Bandar Seri Begawan - By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Hj Alauddin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Hj Abu Bakar announced yesterday that His Majesty hereby has named the newly-born grandson of the monarch, the son of Her Royal Highness Princess Hjh Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah and YAM Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil bin Pengiran Syed Hj Jaafari.

His Majesty's grandson, named Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Hafeez bin Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil, was born on March 18, 2008, at 10.26am.
The Sultan and other members of the royal family expressed their gratitude to all involved during the delivery of His Majesty's grandson, and messages of congratulations received following the birth.

Following the birth on Tuesday, a 17-cannon blast was fired at the compound of the Istana Nurul Iman.
